Chelsea have sold midfielder Kevin De Bruyne to Wolfsburg for a fee of €20m. The Belgian midfielder joined Chelsea from Genk in 2012 for €8.5m but only played 5 first team games, and appeared in the Premier League just twice.
The 22 year old has signed a 5 and a half year deal with the Bundesliga side. The move marks his return to Germany as he spent last season on loan at Werder Bremen.
"My pre-season was good, my first game too, but I still don't know why I lost my place after the game against Manchester United,” De Bruyne told Het Laatste Nieuws.
"I don't regret my transfer to Chelsea. I played a good season in Bremen, I grew as a player, it was also a learning process."
"I didn't leave Chelsea because I have to go to the World Cup - it could be over after three games - but just because I lost my joy," he added.
