Seth Rogen and James Franco's forthcoming movie, "The Interview," has been blasted by North Korea. The plot follows two members of a TV crew who are granted an interview with leader Kim Jong-Un and then try to assassinate him.
Calling the film an "act of war", Pyongyang the country's capital has declared it "intolerable". According to an interview given to The Telegraph, the executive director of The Centre for North-Korea-US Peace, Kim Myongal dismissed the film, but stated that Kim Jong-Un was likely to watch it. Myongal was heavily critical of the US for making a film concerning the assassination of the leader given American involvement in overseas conflicts.
"There is a special irony in this storyline as it shows the desperation of the US government and American society. A film about the assassination of a foreign leader mirrors what the US has done in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria and Ukraine. And let us not forget who killed [President John F] Kennedy – Americans. In fact, President [Barack] Obama should be careful in case the US military wants to kill him as well."
The film is scheduled for release on October 10th.
