Cork GAA have issued a reminder of COVID-19 guidelines, less than 24 hours after the controversial tweeting of a video by Glanmire.

The Cork club shared a video where a crowd is seen cheering a last-gasp free taken by Jimmy Crowley in the 0-13 to 1-9 win over Douglas in the minor championship final.

The video has since been deleted by the Glanmire GAA account, but is still being widely circulated on social media.

Many have criticised an apparent lack of social distancing being observed by the crowd in the Paric Ui Rinn stand. Others have asked Cork GAA for an official statement on the matter.

Some of those criticised have found themselves blocked by Glanmire, including former Irish Examiner journalist, Joe Leogue.

While not addressing Glanmire, or last night's match directly, Cork GAA forwarded an email reminding clubs and media of the guidelines currently in place surrounding matches.

In a missive signed by GAA president John Horan, and Director General Tom Ryan, they've asked for the following to be avoided:

  • Team photographs (unless in seated area conforming to social distancing)
  • Shaking hands with other players and personnel
  • Celebrations and commiserations involving close physical contact

Players are also expected to:

  • follow Public Health Advice with respect to personal hygiene and etiquette
  • social distance from broadcasters if and when being interviewed
  • refrain from swapping their shirts
  • avoid congregating in indoor areas or passing through pitch-side tunnels at the same time as opponents.

The mail concludes by reminding all that compliance with the COVID-19 regulations is "crucial"
