Ulster GAA has confirmed that this year's Ulster Senior Football final will be played at Croke Park.

The meeting of Monaghan and Tyrone will take place at GAA HQ on July 31, with throw-in at 4pm.

The decision to move the provincial decider to Dublin was taken by the Ulster CCC with the idea of maximising capacity.

Connacht GAA have already decided to take their senior football final outside of the province for the first time, in an effort to get more eyes on the game. 18,000 will be allowed to attend that clash of Galway and Mayo.

It's hoped similar numbers will be in place for the Ulster decider.

Speaking after their win over Donegal at the weekend, Tyrone c0-manager Feargal Logan was open to the Croke Park move.

"One, you want people at football, two, I think Clones is still in Monaghan,” he said.

“At the end of the day, not that it has been a barrier in the past, we have always travelled to Clones and it stood everybody well. But if it was to be in Croke Park, then so be it.”
