Crokes manager Hugh Kenny spoke to Oisin Langan after the game and told the Newstalk reporter that Crokes had a valid point ignored by the referee.
Kenny had spoken to the linesman who had agreed immediately and contacted the referee to let him know it was a point. The score was not awarded and Kenny says the referee later on denied being told it was a point.
Kenny admits that for something like that to happen in a county final, especially one decided by just one point, was “heartbreaking”, although he was keen to stress that Crokes let themselves down, allowing a sloppy goal and putting in a sub par first half performacne.
