The two actors are close friends in real life and were lauded for 1997’s Good Will Hunting, which they wrote together and also starred in. It won them the best screenplay Oscar and it seems producer Harvey is hoping to recreate the magic with his new release.

He recently bought the rights to the story of lobster fisherman John Aldridge and his friend Anthony Sosinski. John fell overboard when the pair’s boat was on autopilot 40 miles from Montauk, New York, last year. Anthony was asleep at the time and John stayed alive by using his rubber boots to stay afloat in the sea, where he remained for 12 hours.

Harvey is planning a movie of the tale called A Speck in the Sea and is reportedly convinced Ben and Matt are the perfect stars for it, according to New York Post.

At the moment no further details are known and it’s also unclear whether the two stars have already been approached about starring in the flick.

The Weinstein Company secured the rights to the story after it appeared in New York Times Magazine, penned by Paul Tough.

Rachael Horovitz will act as producer, alongside Jason Blum and Harvey.

“Paul’s piece in the Times magazine… was one of those that instantly struck us as film that had to be made. Rachael and Jason are some of the best in the business, and seeing this amazing story come to life is going to be a wild ride,” Harvey said in a release announcing the movie.
