Kevin Doyle was sure he was moving to Glasgow Celtic at the end of the January transfer window, but was told late in the day that Wolves still want him at the club.

Doyle was honoured with the Goal of the Year prize, for his late strike against Kazakhstan last September, at last night’s Three/FAI International Football Awards.

The Wolves striker spoke to the press after the awards ceremony and told them why he felt his goal might not have been the best of the year, and discussed the new faces in the Irish squad.
