The latest batch of coronavirus tests at Dundalk, Derry City and Shamrock Rovers all returned negative.

Bohemians players and staff were tested on Monday, and their results will be made known on Wednesday.

All four clubs are due to play a mini-tournament at Tallaght Stadium next month.

So far, there have been no positive tests at any of the four SSE Airtricity Premier Division clubs competing in European qualifiers later this summer.

The four clubs have been allowed resume training ahead of the rest of the League of Ireland.

Dundalk midfielder Sean Murray told the club's website, "A few weeks ago we probably didn’t think we’d be playing any games but that tournament is another incentive and something to look forward to it."

He added, "If the league also restarted, then that would be a very good end to what has been a terrible start to the year."

Murray is delighted to be regaining a semblance of normality, "It was strange not seeing the boys every day,” he said.

"That’s probably the main thing I have missed over the past three months. I don’t like the repetitiveness of training on your own so it’s good to be back with the group, and have a football involved.

"We kept in touch through Zoom and held training sessions on it and it was nice to have that hour or two where you’d do a session, have a bit of banter and then a chat after it.

"It was a good way to break up the day but it’s not the same as the real thing."

First Division side Galway United have asked for further clarity regarding the financial support involved in a return to play.

Galway say such support could, "enable a successful and sustainable return to football. This clarification is expected from the FAI later this week."
