An injury-time penalty from Pat Hoban gave Dundalk a 2-1 win at home to Bohemians while Shamrock Rovers stayed in touch with a 3-0 win at Finn Harps.

Not for the first time this season, Dundalk left it late to claim all three points against Bohemians at Oriel Park. Bohs were out of the traps fast and went 1-0 up through Danny Grant in the second minute. Keith Long's side were still ahead at the break but the away side were reduced to 10 men in the 54th minute when Ryan Graydon was shown a second yellow.
Georgie Kelly equalised for the champions in the 66th minute and then deep in injury time the Lilywhites were awarded a penalty when Dean Jarvis was taken down. Hoban made no mistake from the spot to give Dundalk all three points.
Finn Harps 0 Shamrock Rovers 3
Dundalk and Shamrock Rovers both have 40 points but Dundalk stay ahead on goal difference. Rovers beat Finn Harps 3-0 in Ballybofey thanks to goals from Ronan Finn, Dylan Watts and Aaron Greene.
Finn opened the scoring after seven minutes when Greene found Finn and he made no mistake from close range. Watts added the second from the spot in the 33rd minute after Greene was taken down in the penalty area.
Greene got in on the scoring six minutes from time when he converted a Jack Byrne free kick.
A free-kick from the right was lofted in by Jack Byrne and Greene rose well to finish at the far post. Rovers remained vigilant and kept a clean sheet with the aggregate score against Harps this season standing at seven goals to zero.
