Father Ted star Frank Kelly passed away on Sunday. Coincidentally, Kelly died on the 18th anniversary of co-star Dermot Morgan's death.
The end of February is always a special time for Father Ted fans and that was no different in Dublin on Saturday night as Eoin McLove (Patrick McDonnell), Father Damo (Joe Rooney) and Father Stone all gate-crashed a wrestling event in Dublin's Tivoli Theatre.
Over The Top Wrestling had an event in the theatre in honour of the anniversary called "Ah Ted" and McDonnell, Rooney and Redmond all featured in the main-event tag-team match between The Lads From the Flats and The Kings of the North.
McLove was the first to enter the ring but was attacked by Father Damo, who brought the whistle he stole from Benson for good measure. Father Stone was introduced as a special guest referee who performed the slowest three-count even seen by a referee. It was so slow, one of the wrestlers kicked out after two.
It's difficult not to smile when seeing the three actors in action. They seemed like great sports at the event too.
