Everton are reportedly close to finalizing a new long-term contract with Leighton Baines.

The England left back attracted bids from Manchester United last summer as his former boss David Moyes desperately sought to bring him to Old Trafford.

But Baines could now commit his future to the Merseyside club in the coming weeks.

Everton manager Roberto Martinez has also revealed that he is planning to offer a new contract to Irish international Seamus Coleman after a series of outstanding performances this season.
