The FAI will begin the process of appointing a successor to Giovanni Trapattoni within the week.
Chief executive John Delaney, who spoke to Pat Kenny this morning, has confirmed that the board of the Association will meet shortly to begin the process of finding a replacement after parting company with Trapattoni and his management team.
Martin O'Neill is the current favourite for the job and is also holds a slight lead over Roy Keane in our poll.
