This week on Team 33, we were naturally going to discuss Liverpool's sixth Champions League title.
Jonathan Higgins travelled to Madrid for the final and regaled us with the stadium experience.
But Jonathan, Derek Ryan, Cian Roche and I also went on a related tangent. That was all thanks to Liverpool's opening penalty following the Moussa Sissoko handball.
The handball rule is only one of a number of changes incoming next season as IFAB have introduced.
Main Rule Changes
We also touched on some of the main changes at the end of this week's show:
- Players subbed off have to leave the pitch at the nearest point of the touchline or goal-line
- Coaches will receive yellow and red cards
- Attacking players will not be allowed in the opposition's defensive wall at free-kicks
- Goalkeepers must have one foot on the goal-line for penalties.
But are those rules a tad pointless? Will referees enforce some of them consistently? We discussed all that more...
