French international Lassana Diarra has been hit with a massive €10 million fine after losing a legal dispute with his former club Lokomotiv Moscow.
The midfielder signed for the Russian club in 2013 before falling out with Leonid Kuchuk, and he was sacked in 2014 after refusing to play or train with the side.
In 2015, Diarra, who has lined out for Arsenal, Chelsea and Real Madrid during his career, signed for Olympique Marseille but Lokomotiv had filed a case against him to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) for his behaviour.
Diarra appealed the decision has been upheld, meaning he must pay €110,000 to the CAS as well as the €10 million fine, having already served a 15 month suspension.
He confirmed the news via his Twitter account.
