Dan Crowley has completed his move from Willem II to Birmingham City on a two-year contract, with a year's option.
The 21-year-old has spent the last two years in the Netherlands playing for Go Ahead Eagles, Willem II and SC Cambuur.
Crowley, who qualifies to play for Ireland through his grandparents, has represented both Ireland and England at underage level.
The former Arsenal youth has publicly declared his intention to play for the Boys in Green and Mick McCarthy attended the Dutch Cup final in May to watch Crowley in action against Ajax.
However, he was surprisingly left on the bench for Willem II’s 4-0 defeat to Ajax in the final despite starting all 34 league games last season as well as the five Cup games leading up to the final.
Crowley becomes Birmingham's second summer signing, after the permanent transfer of Gary Gardner.
