New Zealand's preparations for this month's Confederations Cup continued on Tuesday night in south Dublin.

Anthony Hudson's side played League of Ireland First Division side Cabinteely in Stradbrook. The All Whites won 5-2.

In the second of three preparation games ahead of their trip to Russia, New Zealand took the lead inside the first five minutes, through a Tommy Smith goal.

Kieran Marty Waters equalised for Pat Devlin's side, but the Kiwis showed their class with Leeds United striker and New Zealand captain Chris Wood scoring twice. Evan Galvin pulled a goal back for Cabinteely before the break.

In the second half, the Oceania giants scored twice more, with goals from Shane Smeltz and Kosta Barbarouses and both teams made 11 changes at the break.

While the win was expected for New Zealand, new relationships will have been built between the two sides. Cabinteely may be one of the smaller sides in the League of Ireland, but when it comes to self-promotion they are up there with the best.
