Ireland move one point ahead of Scotland and into third place in Group D of the Euro 2016 qualifiers with a 4-0 win over Gibraltar in Faro on Friday night.
Despite the fact that Ireland won, it was a mediocre display against poor opposition and a massive improvement is needed if Ireland are to beat Georgia on Monday night in the Aviva Stadium.
Here is how the players rated individually.
Shay Given: Called into action to preserve a 1-0 before half-time and was equal to everything Gibraltar had to offer. Had large periods of inactivity due to Ireland's dominance but kept his concentration and keeps a clean sheet on his 129th appearance for Ireland. 7
Cyrus Christie: While Ireland ran out comfortable winners, Christie scored the opening goal on just his third appearence in an Irish shirt from right-back. His overall display was good regardless of the goal and this proves Ireland have strength in depth at right back. 8
John O’Shea: O'Shea wasn't asked to do much with Gibraltar subdued for the majority of the game. Assured in everything he was asked to do despite the fact that that was not much. 6
Ciaran Clark: Clark had a header that thundered off the crossbar when the score was 0-0. Wasn't asked to do much in his primary role as a defender but was assured in everything he did do. 7
Robbie Brady: Swung in some excellent crosses and made a last ditch tackle to ensure Ireland kept a clean sheet. Brady and Holohan have been mooted as the solution to Ireland's creativity problem. Brady was lively and will improve against better opposition. 7
Glenn Whelan: Tame performance from Whelan, who was hardly needed to influence the game in the robust, physical fashion he so often does. 7
James McCarthy: Turned up to Irish training camp with a knock and the game seemed to pass the Everton player by. Questions marks remain over McCarthy's role in the Irish team. 5
Wes Hoolahan: Assist for Christie's goal and pulled down for Ireland's penalty and Robbie Keane's second goal. Creative and technically excellent. 8
Jeff Hendrick: Largely un-involved despite sporadic signs of life. 6
Robbie Keane: Robbie Keane doing Robbie Keane things. His two goals to go with the 65 he scored during his international career prior to Friday night is beyond impresive. You can't really ask too much more from your striker. 8
Jon Walters: Did very well for Keane's first and Ireland's second. Scored a goal that was disallowed and was his usual self in wreaking havoc on the opposing defense including the pass to Holohan for Ireland's penalty. 8
Subs
Shane Long: Landed a goal off the bench that epitomised everything Shane Long offers Ireland. He showed instincts, pace and a good finish despite the poor defending that allowed him steal in front of the Gibraltar defender.
Stephen Quinn: Game was over when he was introduced and didn't have to do anything with Gibraltar well and truly beaten.
Aidan McGeady: Had a decent effort and tried to run at Gibraltar's defense. Game was effectively over when he was introduced.
