Darron Gibson will likely need an operation at the end of the season to correct a thigh problem, according to Everton manager David Moyes.
Gibson has become an important part of Moyes’ side during his 15 months at Goodison Park, however the midifelder has been hampered by injuries.
Moyes was speaking with reporters earlier today and while discussing Gibson’s goal during Saturday’s game with QPR.
"After the game on Saturday, I was asked about Darron Gibson's goal and his shot - I think he could do it more and with more ferocity as well because he's got a great shot on him.
"But he has got a bit of a problem at the top of his thigh which I think will need some form of operation at the end of the season."
"I think that what he's given us is that he's good on the ball," he said.
"He's got a better range of passing than maybe some of the other midfielders we've got. He's a different type.
"He can score from a shot and we're hoping that he can do that more regularly. That was one of the main reasons for bringing him in - to start to try and get some more goals from midfield.
"I do think overall he's had an impact. He's maybe had a dip midway through when he came back from injury but his form's good and he's in good condition now."
