Golden State Warriors are one game away from being eliminated from the NBA Playoffs after losing Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals to the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The 118-94 loss is the first time the Warriors have lost back-to-back games in almost a year. The team lost Games 2 and 3 of the NBA Finals last June against Cleveland.

If the Warriors are to reach their second successive Finals they need to win their three remaining games against the Thunder. Two of those come at home, with the middle game taking place in Oklahoma.

Tuesday's loss is the second in a row that the team have lost by more than 20 points. Throughout their historic regular season, the Warriors only lost two games by more than that margin in 82 games.

Russell Westbrook was the star of the star for the Thunder. The 27-year-old scored 32 points in the fifth triple-double of his career.

History is against the Warriors. Only nine teams in the history of the Playoffs have come back from 3-1 down. Three of those have happened since 2000, with the most recent coming last year. Houston Rockets defeated the LA Clippers in their final three games to book a place in the Western Conference Finals.

The winners of the Warriors-Thunder tie will meet either the Cleveland Cavaliers or Toronto Raptors. Those teams are tied 2-2 in the best-of seven series.
