Rob Heffernan says he is now considering whether he will extend his career to target the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro after this morning's stunning World Championships victory.
The 35-year-old race walker made up for the disappointment of last year's fourth place finish at the London games with a superb performance in Moscow to win gold in the 50 k walk.
Heffernan says he will now take a break from competition, but said he is considering another Olympics.
