FAI Chief Executive John Delaney spoke to Newstalk Breakfast's Kieran Cuddihy this morning about Sepp Blatter's announcement about his intention to resign as FIFA President.

The 79 year old was only re-elected as President for a fifth term last Friday when he defeated the Jordanian, Prince Ali at FIFA's Congress in Zurich.

Football's World governing body has had a week to forget after Swiss police arrested FIFA members in a Zurich hotel last week. Those FIFA members face extradition to America after the FBI administered racketeering charges against the accused.

Yesterday afternoon, the FIFA Secretary General Jerome Valcke was implicated in a bribery scandal involving the South African FA and former CONCACAF President Jack Warner.

Overnight, reports in America stated that Blatter may be implicated in future FBI proceedings against FIFA.
