Roy Keane says his age means he still has plenty of time to fulfil his club management ambitions.

The Ireland assistant manager has agreed to stay on for a further two years with the national team alongside Martin O'Neill after Euro 2016.

Although he retains full-time management ambitions, he feels he is young enough to be patient about returning to the club scene to resurrect a career which saw him previously in charge of Sunderland and Ipswich.

"Things fell into place the last few days that [O'Neill] was going to stay on and he wanted me to be part of it and I didn't really hesitate," he said.

"And the club stuff. I'm 44 years of age. I've plenty of time for that. I am keen to get back into it. When I said short-term, I mean in the next few years, I didn't mean in the next few weeks. But yeah, we're happy to stay on. I really enjoy the job and really enjoy working with the people I do."

He also added that he has received management offers in his time as an Ireland assistant but that none "rocked his boat enough to leave the Irish job".
