US character actor James Rebhorn, who most recently starred in "Homeland", has died after a long battle with skin cancer.
He was 65.
In a career spanning five decades, he appeared in more than a hundred movies and TV shows including ''Scent of a Woman" and "Meet the Parents."

In the 1990s he had supporting roles in films “The Talented Mr. Ripley,” “Basic Instinct,” “Carlito’s Way,” “Lorenzo’s Oil” and Woody Allen’s “Shadows and Fog.”
On "Homeland," he played the father of Claire Danes' CIA officer Carrie Mathison.
