Ireland manager Giovanni Trapattoni has promised that Wes Hoolahan will play at least one half of the upcoming friendly international against Greece.
The Norwich playmaker has won a recall to the Ireland set-up after a series of out-standing performances for his club this season.
Trapattoni has indicated that he’s now looking to build for the future after also including the likes of Shane Duffy, David Meyler, Conor Clifford and Robbie Brady in an extended 26-man squad.
There’s no place for Ireland captain Robbie Keane, who won’t be asked to fly back from LA for the game at the Aviva Stadium, while Shane Long has also been left out because of a hamstring strain.
The squad will be reduced to 23 names before they meet-up ahead of the game
