Ireland's second one-day international with the UAE in Abu Dhabi has been postponed for a second time.

It's after four cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in the UAE camp.

The second of four ODIs between the sides was originally scheduled for Sunday, but was postponed until Tuesday January 12 after three members of the Emirates' squad tested positive.

Ireland are due to face the UAE on January 14 and 16 before a trio of ODI's against Afghanistan commencing on January 21.

Those outstanding fixtures with the Emirates are in severe doubt, however, with a statement reading, "the directive from the authorities requires the UAE team to remain in quarantine for an extended period of time."

The Ireland squad are operating within a 'bio-bubble' for their four-week stay in Abu Dhabi.

All-rounder Shane Getkate and bowler Conor Olphert joined up with the squad to make up for the injured David Delany. Both had to isolate upon their arrival, and had been originally ruled out of the second ODI with the UAE.

Cricket Ireland thanked the Emirates Cricket Board and Abu Dhabi Cricket for their transparency and cooperation at this time, and will continue to monitor the situation over coming days.
