Former Ireland midfielder Steven Reid says the current crop of players must grab their Euro 2016 opportunity with both hands.

The ex-Blackburn Rovers player represented Ireland at one major tournament, World Cup 2002, and looking back on his own experience, he told Off The Ball that Martin O'Neill's side must cherish their chance to go to next summer's tournament after sealing qualification tonight.

"I thought I would play in two or three major tournaments but it only happened to be one. I think the lads have got to treat this the same. They've got to to look forward to it for the next six months, obviously go back to their clubs now, enjoy tonight, but look forward to that tournament because it could only be one. It could be your only chance," he said.

Pat Nevin and Andy Reid were also on tonight's show as we celebrated a second consecutive qualification for a European Championship.

Reid praised Robbie Brady for his full performance as the left sided player delivered the ball in for Jon Walters' second goal.

"It was a fantastic ball. He played really, really well tonight and that one ball is the one that really took the pressure off at the end," said the Nottingham Forest midfielder, who also spoke of our expectations.

"If we can put together a side and formations and good tactics, with the players that we've got, then we can be competitive, if we get a bit of luck as well."
