Andy Lee has hit out at suggestions that his camp are already in talks with Gennady Golovkin about a potential middleweight unification bout.

Lee angrily responded to persistent questions today that he was already lining up a showdown with the world's top pound-for-pound boxer, even before he has defended his WBO title against Billy Joe Saunders.

The pair will finally step into the ring in Manchester on December 19th.

"It would be stupid of me or Adam Booth to look past Saunders as he’s the next man I’m facing in the ring and he’s a dangerous fighter who could take my title. There’s no way at all I'd be overlooking him. Golovkin is the golden carrot for everyone in the middleweight division but I have to deal with Saunders first," he said.
