Munster pair JJ Hanrahan and Dave Kilcoyne will miss the European Champions Cup opener against the Ospreys at the Liberty Stadium tomorrow.
Hanrahan has a hamstring problem and Kilcoyne is carrying a calf injury.
In all, there are five changes to the side that defeated Ulster in the Pro 14 league last week.
Irish international Keith Earls starts for the province for the first time, with Tyler Bleyendaal, Conor Murray, Jeremy Loughman and Tommy O’Donnell also coming into the starting 15.
Mike Haley starts at full-back with last week’s match-winner Andrew Conway and Earls on the wings.
Rory Scannell and Chris Farrell continue their centre partnership, with Murray and Bleyendaal the half-backs.
Loughman, Niall Scannell and John Ryan compose the front row.
It will be a first Champions Cup start for Loughman.
Jean Kleyn and Billy Holland are picked in the second row, with captain Peter O’Mahony, O’Donnell and CJ Stander making up the back-row.
Tadhg Beirne is named among the replacements.
