It's being reported that Joe Schmidt will tell the IRFU he wants to scrap or significantly overhaul the pre-match briefing to the National Team Review Group the day before games.

According to the Irish Independent Schmidt does not want to continue the practice. The current Leinster coach might find his wish to abandon the NTRG briefing an obstacle in his forthcoming interview.

Schmidt, however, is still considered a favourite for the job on the back of his continued successes with the Leinster team.

The process of replacing former coach Declan Kidney continues with Les Kiss, Ewen McKenzie and Jack White expected to be among the other potential choices for the job. Only Schmidt and interim manager Kiss have been officially confirmed as candidates. The Independent, however, also suggests that White and McEnzie have already been interviewed via Skype.
