Footballers may regularly regret their actions on the pitch when they reflect on what happened during the 90 minutes of action.
That's what happened last night to Everton goalkeeper Joel Robles, who assumed Kevin de Bruyne was timewasting in the final minutes of the League Cup semi-final between Manchester City and Everton.
It looks like De Bruyne has suffered a serious knee injury with his season now in jeopardy which was expected to culminate with the Belgian squad at Euro 2016.
Robles took to his twitter account last night to apologise to the Belgian for his actions in the final moments of the game with City won 3-1 to advance to the final 4-3 on aggregate.
I would like to apologise to Kevin De Bruyne for my reaction to his injury. In the heat of the moment I didn't realise he was badly hurt. ..

I wish him all the best and a speedy recovery
