It seems the widespread public mocking over his “French” accent – first heard during a press conference after his debut for Marseille, last November – has not stopped Marseille midfielder Joey Barton from utilising the cringe inducing accent during his time in the south of France.

Here he is interviewing French international player, and his current teammate, Andre Pierre Gignac for the official Marseille TV channel, OM TV.

Joey first speaks around 40 seconds in, and his “accent” is pretty thick.
