Ireland defender John O'Shea led a player revolt against former Sunderland boss Paulo Di Canio according to reports.
O'Shea and Lee Cattermole went to club Chief Executive Margaret Byrne to inform her that Di Canio had lost the dressing room according to The Express.
The Italian manager's erratic reign had seen a number of strange decisions made, including a ban on singing, ice cubes, tomato ketchup, mayonnaise and mobile phones.
Di Canio had also publicly criticized squad members - including O'Shea following the loss to Crystal Palace.
O'Shea had said that Di Canio had apologized to him but the ex-manager denied this.
