Katie Taylor has been named as the Irish Sportswoman of the Year for 2012.
After winning gold at the London Olympics and also claiming her fourth consecutive world title, Taylor has been recognised by the Irish Sports Council and the Irish Times for another out-standing year of success.
The Bray fighter was chosen from a list of 12 nominees for the award, which included the likes of Annalise Murphy, Sycerika McMahon and Fionnuala Britton.
Meanwhile, Irish Olympic athlete and hockey player Maeve Kyle was given a Lifetime Achievement Award after representing Ireland at three Olympic games and winning 58 Irish caps in hockey.
