Ireland will beat the New Zealand All Blacks "without a shadow of a doubt".

That is according to former Ireland and Lions player Keith Wood. His comments come following Ireland's last minute 24-22 defeat to New Zealand at the Aviva yesterday.

Ireland coach Joe Schmidt has said he could not have asked for more effort from his players.

The converted try at the 81st minute meant the All-Blacks created history, by becoming the first country to win all their games in a calendar year.

Ireland had a 19 points lead within 17 minutes, but Ireland was denied any points in the second half of the game.

Wood spoke to The Pat Kenny Show here on Newstalk, hosted by Shane Coleman, about what it is about the All Blacks that makes them impervious to being beaten.

But he says that Ireland will definitely beat them one of these days.
