Grand Slam and two-time Heineken Cup-winning coach Declan Kidney has been appointed to the post of Director of Sport and Physical Activity at UCC.

The former Ireland head coach was sacked from his national team role in April.

During his own playing days, Kidney lined out for UCC and received an Alumni award from the university in 2008.
