Manager, Unai Emery said following the signing, "we're delighted Kieran is joining us. He's a very talented player who will continue to improve. He increases our options defensively and I look forward to him joining the group."
Throughout his time at Celtic - who he joined at the age of seven - he made 170 appearances for the club and won 12 caps for Scotland. He won five Scottish Premiership titles as well as four domestic cup trophies.

He has become Arsenal's fifth signing of the summer. They completed the record signing of Nicolas Pepe last week from Lille for almost €78 million (£72 million). They also join Dani Ceballos from Real Madrid who signed on loan, as well as William Saliba from Saint-Etienne and Gabriel Marinelli.
Chelsea's David Luiz is expected to make the switch across London to join Arsenal for around €8.6 million (£8 million). The Brazilian centre-back is completing a medical with the Gunners.
It comes following a number of reports there was a rift between management at the club and Luiz. L'Equipe was reporting that he did not train with the senior squad, while the Telegraph said he was forcing his way out of the club. It comes despite the Brazilian signing a new two-year contract recently with the Blues.
Arsenal's Premier League season starts on Sunday when they welcome Steve Bruce's Newcastle to the Emirates.
