Jurgen Klopp has insisted Bayern Munich have not made an approach for Robert Lewandowski and he would “still like to think that Robert will be playing for [Dortmund] next season.”
Rumours of Lewandowski’s departure to the Bundesliga and Champions League winners have been rife, with departing Bayern coach Jupp Heynckes the most recent to suggest Lewandowski had agreed a deal with Bayern.
Lewandowski’s agent, speaking on Polish television, has also said he expects a transfer to go through in the near future.
Klopp, speaking to German tabloid Bild, refuted the suggestion that Dortmund have received any offer for the player.
"As of today, an official Bayern offer does not exist," Klopp said. "I'd still like to think that Robert will play for us next season. We will see to it that we will put an end to the speculation over the next few days."
Klopp expressed disappointment with the manner in which Bayern and Lewandowski’s agents were handling the situation thus far.
"Jupp Heynckes says it, his agents say it - and we have no offer. What's that all about? How things are turning out now is not fair or nice."
