Kris Commons was the hero of Parkhead last night as he scored an 82nd minute penalty to send Celtic through to the last 16 of the Champions League and complete the most remarkable group stage campaign in the club's history. It wasn't long after scoring the penalty that Commons was injured by a heavy challenge from Spartak's Swedish international Kim Kallstrom. The Swede was dismissed for the challenge and Commons was stretchered off in significant pain, with manager Neil Lennon admitting after the game that he had worried the injury may have been a serious blow, "At first, I thought it might have medial ligament damage, but it's actually soft tissue in the thigh area. It was quite a heavy blow." Lennon told the BBC his striker had "got a stud in his upper thigh, a lot of swelling, so he's in a bit of discomfort at the minute. "
