Drogheda United have missed-out on a chance to overtake Cork City at the top of the table SSE Airtricity League Premier Division after they were held to a 1-all draw by Sligo Rovers at the Showgrounds.
Alan Keane scored inside the opening minute for Sligo, but Declan O'Brien has equalized for the visitors.
That slip-up by Drogheda has allowed Dundalk and Shamrock Rovers to overtake them in the table. Shamrock Rovers are now up to second place after a 2-nil win over UCD thanks to goals from Ronan Finn and Ryan Brennan.
Dundalk were 3-nil winners over Derry City at Oriel Park thanks to goals from Brian Gartland, Richard Towell and David McMillan.
St. Patrick's Athletic have given their title defence a much-needed shot in the arm after a 3-1 win over Bray Wanderers at the Carlisle Grounds. Christy Fagan, Lee Lynch and Chris Forrester were the goal-scorers for the reigning champions.
Elsewhere, Bohemians were 3-1 winners over their hosts, Athlone Town.
