The January transfer window is a busy time for a lot of clubs, and Leicester will be hoping to get a few moves completed after an incredible start to the season.

Not many would have predicted that they would be second in the table with more than half the season gone as they head into the window, and it seems that they have no intention of giving up a spot in the top four.

According to The Mirror, they are looking to seal a deal with AC Milan for Nigel de Jong, which would cost around £2 million. However, they are offering an interesting incentive to try and seal the deal for the Dutch midfielder: he will get a £1 million bonus if they secure a Champions League spot.

De Jong would replace Gokhan Inler, who has been unable to break into Ranieri's team. The Swiss international may be in line for a return to Schalke so that he can get some game time under his belt ahead of the Euros in the summer.

The AC Milan midfielder is no stranger to England either, having spent several seasons with Manchester City, winning the FA Cup and the Premier League in his time there.

He would be a welcome boost to their squad for the rest of the season, and in particular in the coming weeks as they face a number of fixtures that could have a big impact on where they finish in the table, including games against Tottenham and Stoke.
