The Munster centre follows Leinster's Noel Reid to Welford Road
It's been a busy Bank Holiday Monday for the Leicester Tigers.
Just hours after announcing the signature of Leinster's Noel Reid, the Gallagher Premiership side have added Munster centre Jaco Taute to their roster for next season.
The South African, who has played three times for the Springboks, is no stranger to the Tigers, scoring two tries against them during the Heineken Champions Cup pool stages in 2016.
Taute initially joined Munster on a short-term deal in 2016 from Western Province but was an instant success, eventually inking a permanent deal, en route to a Champions Cup semi-final and Pro 12 final.
However, a serious knee injury, coupled with the arrival of Chris Farrell has stunted Taute's progress with Munster, with the 28-year-old starting just seven games in the last two seasons.
All the best to @JacoTaute who is set to join @LeicesterTigers at the start of next season. Thanks for everything in red Jaco 👊🔴 #SUAF pic.twitter.com/oqzERWIDRP

"We’ve obviously seen Jaco close-up in European competition and he is a big, physical unit in the backline with extensive experience in the southern hemisphere and also at the top-end of European rugby," said Head Coach Geordan Murphy.
“He is an option at centre or at full-back for us and we look forward to welcoming him in the pre-season period," he added.
Taute said: "I am looking forward to the challenge of the Premiership and excited to be joining a club like Leicester Tigers.”
"Leicester has a rich history and I want to contribute to creating even more memories for the fans at Welford Road.
"I am excited about working alongside the quality players in the squad and under Geordan Murphy and his coaching team."
Taute - who is a powerful option at both centre and full back - is the second back from an Irish province to confirm a move to the Tigers for the coming season, after Noel Reid's move from Leinster was also announced.
