Win or lose, Ireland can hold their head up high after this Six Nations according to Alan Quinlan.

The former Ireland and Munster back-row and Shane Jennings joined us on Off The Ball during and after today's victory over Scotland and although he sees plenty of positives from the campaign, Quinlan believes there is an opportunity to iron out any areas of concern for Joe Schmidt's side.

"It's a good return. Four wins out of five. We can't be too greedy. We gave it away last week [against Wales]. There's no doubt about it. But I think we can learn from it. We saw some attack today that was a positive. We can do the other stuff very well - the kicking game, the pressure, the territory, the breakdown work. We do need to open up a little bit but they're still building," he said, with Quinlan and Jennings outlining the other positives in terms of increased squad depth.

And according to Jennings, the deputy fly-halves must push their claim more to give Jonny Sexton even more back-up.

"Those back-up 10s, they really need to understand the importance of their role and really pushing Joe hard because if people think it's all about Jonny, it's easy to target one guy and try and rattle him. So we need to have more strings to our bow," said the Leinster man.
