Liverpool have relinquished their unbeaten record and lost their first home game of the season. Southampton came to Anfield and left with a 1-0 win thank to a Dejan Lovren header.

Robbie Brady opened the scoring for Hull in their game against Newcastle. The Ireland international also set up Ahmed Elmohamady for the second goal as Hull twice came back from a goal deficit to win 3-2 away to Newcastle. Newcastle had Loic Remy to thank for both of their goals, while Sone Aluko got the winner for Hull.

There was another 3-2 at Upton Park, where Everton beat West Ham thanks to goals from Leighton Baines – who scored two free kicks – and Romelu Lukaku, who grabbed the winner.

West Ham had led twice, through goals from Ravel Morrison and Mark Noble.

West Brom were 3-0 winners over Sunderland, with former Black Cats man Stephane Sessegnon among the scorers.

Aston Villa were 1-0 Winners away to Norwich in the day’s early kick off. Chelsea face Fulham in the evening kick off.
