Liverpool have returned to winning ways with Daniel Sturridge and Luis Suarez returning to scoring form after a 2-1 win at the Stadium of Light.
Liverpool compounded Sunderland’s recent misery with two first half goals and a late goal that came when Sturridge laid the ball on for Suarez to complete a simple finish. It was the Uruguayans first league game since his 8 game ban for biting Branislav Ivanovic last April.
The win lifts Liverpool to second in the table, level with Spurs and two points behind Arsenal. Sunderland remain rooted to the bottom of the table with just 1 point from their first 6 games.
