Manchester City have beaten Newcastle 3-1 at St. James' Park to close the gap on Premier League leaders Manchester United to three points.

Sergio Aguero, Javi Garcia put the Sky Blues ahead in the first half from close range before Demba Ba got the Newcastle goal to make it 2-1 in a poor performance for the Magpies.

Yaya Toure made sure of the win after collecting a Pablo Zabaleta pass with 12 minutes to go.

While City bounced back from last weekend's dramatic derby defeat, Newcastle remain rooted in 15th, just two points above the bottom three.
