Dan Martin became only the second Irish winner of the one-day classic Liege-Bastogne-Liege after he beat Joaquim Rodriguez.

The 26-year-old sealed the biggest victory of his career to emulate Sean Kelly who won it 1984 and 1989.

Martin caught his Spanish rival during the final ascent before breaking away in the last 400 metres to claim victory.
