Donegal waited 20 years for their second All-Ireland title, and look like they may have had it wrenched from their grasp within just 35 minutes of football at Croke Park this afternoon.

The reiging champions require a minor miracle to save their season. Mayo have put in a spectacular display of attacking football and left the All-Ireland champions stunned and trailing by a score of 2-10 to 0-4.

The shooting from the Connacht champions has been exemplary, with 6 Mayo players scoring from play – and some from the most inexplicable of angles – while out fighting, out running and out thinking Donegal at almost every turn.

Goals from Cillian O’Connor and Donal Vaughan have supplemented the predatory long range shooting and sent Jim McGuinness and his side to the dressing room knowing they need 12 unanswered points just to force extra time.
