Alan Dillon might not have expected to start against Galway yesterday after injury kept him out of the latter portion of the league, but that is exactly what happened as the Mayo forward netted 0-2 after being named in the starting XV.
"For the past couple of weeks I've been improving and feeling better," Dillon told Newstalk Breakfast's Oisin Langan. "It's great to be back with a lot of lads pushing for positions. Unfortunately we also have a couple of injuries at the present time.
Dillon felt that the pressure and intensity exerted by Mayo, particularly in the forward line, meant Galway could not live with them during the 4-16 to 0-11 victory.
"We tried to get into an intensity that Galway couldn't handle. In the first half we turned over some quality ball and we got scores off the end of it. That was the big difference in the first half."
