Brian Mc Dermott has ruled himself out of the running for the Ireland job.

The Leeds boss was one of the names mentioned in connection with the role, due to his Irish heritage.

But he says that he is not looking to leave his current position.

Martin O'Neill remains the favourite to replace Giovanni Trapattoni with reports today suggesting he will be appointed next week.
