Liverpool have Simon Mignolet to thank for a winning start to their Premier League season. The newly signed keeper endured a nervy opening half but left the pitch on a high following a late penalty save from Jonathan Walters.
An earlier strike from Daniel Sturridge had put Liverpool in front and despite long periods of possession the home side were unable to put the result beyond doubt. And were it not for the heroics of Mignolet the Anfield side could have been starting their new season with the far too familiar regret of a frustrating home draw against supposedly weaker opposition.
